I made my first youtube video today Crazy plant lady blog youtube channel How to plant tradescantia zebrina after propagation it from cuttings. I took cuttings from my tradescantia zebrina two weeks ago. When I take cuttings I cut just below a leaf node. I then remove 2-3 of the bottom leaves and place in a mason jar full of water. I placed the mason jar full of cuttings in a south facing window. Roots will grow from the exposed leaf nodes. Tradescantia zebrina is a beautiful plant and propagates from a cutting very easily. They are one of the easiest plants to propagate in my opinion. They also grow really fast meaning you can make a ton of new plants in a short amount of time. Below is a picture of the roots I had after 2 weeks.
At this point they are ready to be planted into soil. I moistened the soil before planting. Then planted the cuttings around the outer edge of the pot first. I had enough cuttings to get the pot semi full. They are currently hanging in a south facing window. They should be rooted well and showing signs of new growth with in 2 weeks. I will be posting in update in a couple weeks showing how my cuttings are doing.
