Today I want to talk about propagation. You can use leaves most succulents in order to create a new baby plant. There are many ways to do this my preferred method is through water propagation. I use a mason jar filled almost all the way up with water.  I use clear plastic wrap on the top and then poke holes in the plastic wrap to stick the succulent leaves in. Make sure leaves have a had a chance to callous before you stick them in the plastic wrap. If they haven't had a chance to callous for a few days they will rot.   Make sure the leaves do not touch the water. High heel planter

Of course I saved them to use for something.      I decided pretty quickly that they would make perfect planters for succulents. I brought them home and cleaned them up. Next I added a small layer of soil to the inside. I started with the plant I was going to put at the top of the shoe by the heel. Once I put it in I filled around the succulent with more soil packing it down slightly to help the succulent stay in place. Boot planter

It turned out better than I thought it would and is now one of my favorite planters. I have burro tails and climbing aloe growing inside it.  The first step in this project was to cut a hole near the toe of the boot. It was a little tricky due to how many layer lined the inside of the boot. Plus its a steel toe boot so I couldn't get as close to the toe as I would have liked. I used a sharp knife to make the initial cut and then was able to use scissors to cut the rest of the hole.
